having issures installing windows on mac. Will require a team of experts

Thanks for all your help man! I was about to give up and then I figured out a really, really easy way to get windows 8.1 onto the system.

For future reference for anyone who might stumble on the need for this solution for Macbook2,1 2007 a1181 white 2.16ghz intel based

(1) Clean wipe
(2) Create 3 partitions (Extended Journaled @ 60gb, Fat32 @ 10gb, Fat 32@ Remaining Memory), using the GUID format in options.
(3) Install the highest possible mac os you can on extended journaled.
(4) Download and install rEFInd
(5) Insert a windows 7 64bit install disk and boot it from bootcamp (startup options key; the disc will not be visible in rEFInd)
(6) Install windows 7 on the large fat 32 drive
(7) Create a windows 8.1 usb installer using a usb installer making tool (windows or linux tool)
(8) Copy the contents of the usb installer to the 10gb fat32 partition
(9) Open the 10gb drive in windows and run Setup
(10) Allow install to continue, and always boot back into the windows drive on rEFInd every time it resets.
(11) Go through the reset process like 10 times until Windows 8.1 loads (requires patience).
(12) Go back into your mac partition, download bootcamp drivers for windows package https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638?locale=en_US install drivers as needed (this I haven't done yet)

Thats all there is to it; looks pretty too with the refind boot.

And in preparation for Windows 10, simply resize the journaled partition to 10gb, create a 10gb fat32 drive and repeat the usb installer > hard drive partition installer conversion (continuing down the steps)

Just an update; it seems you can just throw in your old leopard disk in and it will completely deck out your drivers

This is the simplified version, I now have roughly 100 bookmarks dedicated to the process.

You basically have to figure out how to get two installs when windows has to be on an MBR drive and Mac has to be on a GPT drive, and you can't use usb, and only windows 7 64bit dvds will boot.

This means incorrect in quote

You can't boot to a flash drive because your EFI hasn't supported seeing GPT partitions while being booted to MBR.

Of course you can boot to 8.1 disk, just modify ISO like I mentioned.

"MBR drive and Mac has to be on a GPT drive", GPT and MBR can't coincide on same disk, it's impossible. Your firmware does not support booting to mbr (aka installing from flash because there would be no way for it to install onto a GPT aka can't see it via current flash table), just like with PCs, legacy boot won't support install for gpt and the other way around, the EFI/bios handles this. However on the newer models, the EFI can see and install to GPT from a mbr flash.

Yep well, I'm no expert on the technicalities of it. I didn't mean to imply that the disk had to support both table types. The only reason it works is because you can get w7 onto a fat32 partition made by os x, and you have to use a w7 32 bit disk booted from the DVD drive (yes I also made a mistake earlier, a1181 doesn't support 64bit versions).

Yeah this seems all sorts of wrong. It was like 3 steps for me to get 8.1 installed on my 2014 Air and I definitely didn't need to install 7 first or rEFInd.
