so in my bios are 2 settings and im not sure which one i need to change. I have a i5 2500k

there is the one in the picture that everything is set to 43 (mine says like 37,36,35,34 for example)

or there is one called CPU ratio which says 33

any help is appreciated

Are we supposed to guess what hardware you have? :)

If you don't know how to do it don't

or google a guide if you must.
Hope your aware of the risks and have the cooling needed to do so also.

i5 2500k
gtx 670
8 gigs of ram
biostar tz68a+ motherboard
hyper 212 evo cooler for the cpu

i tried googling it but couldnt find much for this motherboard except one thread where it seems the guy changed those to all match 45 and says hes at 4.5 ghz so i assumed thats what he changed but kinda want to make sure lol

above the turbo mode option is one that says CPU ratio which says 33 which i figured is what i would change as the i5 is at 3.3 ghz but im unsure

On motherboards for Intel CPU's the speed limit between all the components, is 100 Mhz.

The CPU ratio , which used to be called the multiplier, is exactly that, the multiplier. On your board 100 Mhz "times" 33 = 3300 Mhz or 3.3 Ghz.

If you change the CPU ratio to 35 then it will be 100 Mhz times 35, or 3500 Mhz = 3.5 Ghz. The thing about OCing is that other things change as well.
Like you will need a little bit more voltage to run the CPU at a higher speed, or the computer will become unstable, or the temperatures will become too high.

All this is just like...the very 1st baby step. If you seriously get into OCing, you need to pitch a tent on the overclock.net forums, watch a zillion videos, read a zillion articles etc. If this is YOUR very 1st OC, expect it to take you a few months to get a decent OC, that is stable and doesn't start melting components.

i followed a stickied guide but im not sure if im missing or did anything wrong. i did some stress tests via prime 95 and according to realtemp my temps were getting to mid/high 50s but the multiplier is dropping to like 3.6. i haven't had any crashes or anything like that but curious why its dropping.

1. 70C is fine for an Intel CPU
2. Disable w/e is "allowing" the CPU ratio to drop. I'm not an Intel guy, but every BIOS has something like that.
3. Ask these questions on overclock.net.

We really don't advise on overclocking in these forums. Overclock.net though is chock full of ppl who both overclock all the time and give advice about it.

You have to set XMP mode, dno if that's available on your mobo, but should be.

Then start with 4.2 ghz, and set voltage to 1.1. Check temperatures on cpu while running prime95 blend for 6h+.

If it's stable (under 85c at the highest temp), now it's up to you if you want higher speed or less heat.
If higher speed, then just multiply it up to 44 or 45 and check if it still works. If it doesn't, crank up the voltage a little bit, maybe 1.2.
If less heat, just set the voltage to the lowest working. If prime95 doesn't crash after 3hours now, you're probably pretty stable.

If it didn't work with 4.2ghz and 1.1v, set voltage a little bit higher until it doesn't crash.

But as Ghot says. Use overclock forums.
