Been having a lot of spiking issues in the past week but it's only for the wireless connections.

I, myself have the router and modem in my room and have an ethernet cable connected to my xbox and my computer.

My xbox connects fine and no spiking at all, open NAT, etc. My computer will not connect via ethernet cable. I've tried multiple cables, from the router, from the modem. I've tried the xbox cable, none seem to work. So I'm forced to connect wirelessly and the wireless is constantly spiking. It makes it very difficult for me to do anything because I haven't been able to go 5 minutes without jumping up to 3000+ ping in a DotA 2 game, constantly disconnected from steam, can hardly watch videos on youtube, 90% of the time pages don't even load.

Not sure if anyone has any ideas of what I could do other than call Shaw ofc. I tried looking on google to no avail.

check out your ethernet port in your device management, maybe it needs a driver

fix that, then i'd worry about wireless

according to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02700752&tmp%5Ftask=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5074436#N512
you have a Realtek 8111C

and this is the windows 7 64 bit driver for it:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-89905-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5074436&sw%5Flang=

weird that its not showing up, maybe disabled in bios? anyway I'd try that driver and see what happens.
