I just went to try and play age of empires 3 for the first time in like a year and it gives me an error that says msxml 4.0 is not installed correctly. I googled it but Idon't know enough about this for what it says to make since to me for example http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=19662 no idea whats going on.

can someone help me with this?

Did you try reinstalling?

what operating system are you running and have you done all the updates?

not yet but that is my next step all i have done so far is redl 2 things for this program. so I will be reinstaling the game when I get a chance and I use vista if that is what you mean and yes I have done all the updates.

reintalling the game didn't work and reinstalling msxml4 and msxmlcab didn't work for me. anyone have any ideas?

MSXML 6.0 MSXML6 is the latest MSXML product from Microsoft, and (along with MSXML3) is shipped with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, .NET Framework 3.0, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP Service Pack 3. It also has support for native 64-bit environments. It is an upgrade but not replacement for versions 3 and 4 as they still provide legacy features not supported in version 6. Version 6, 4, and 3 may all be installed and running concurrently. MSXML 6 is not supported on Windows 9x. Windows XP SP3 includes MSXML 6.0 SP2.


In other words...go here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=15697 and download msxml.msi...save it to ur desktop, and double click it to install.
