These last few days have not been easy on me, and now, today will not be easy for you.
As some of you are aware and others not, a few days ago my daughter, Sera Ceil Reinhardt,
passed away in her sleep. The authorities have informed me she died of an accidental
overdose on sleeping pills. Because there was a minor involved (my niece Reiko), they have
assured me she will not suffer in the media.
I am beyond disbelief that any licensed physician would prescribe these drugs to Sera,
with her past medical history, and saddened further still that she felt it was necessary to
rely on them. It is, however, a relief to hear that she did not intentionally abandon her life.
I am writing this in the hope that somewhere, someone will be able to contact my daughter's
friends, and pass on to them my sincere condolences. To my knowledge, she spent the majority of
her time interacting with you, her online friends and virtual environments. So it is with my
best wishes that I thank you for providing to her what I could not.
A private funeral will be held and her body cremated with her treasured bear, pending release.
I am planning to scatter the ashes at Kasumi-ku, in two weeks following; I think she would have
been happy with that. The 21st or the 28th of June - I must clear up my schedule before setting
a concrete date, my apologies. If any of you wish to attend, or to send her your farewells,
