Remember that when Kushina was about to give birth to Naruto, they took her away in a secret place and only few people knows that she was giving birth the night the Nine Tails attacked.

that is true but you would have atleast figured people would notice kushina being pregnant and then naruto being a orphan when she died

As I understand, the Kushina's Surname, Uzumaki, was not revealed and only the higher ups knows about it. So when Naruto turned up with the Surname, no one can connect the dots except the high ranking Shinobi's.

remember when she was a little girl she got kidnap because she's from Uzumaki, I think they made sure no-one else knew about her clan after that incident.

Naruto birth was kept a secret because it became common knowledge that a host while preggers becomes weak and the beast could break free of the host, they kept narutos birth on the down low to reduce fear, i also assume not many people knew narutos mother was a host to began with being the villages secret weapon and all, look across the board all 5 villages all the host go threw the same hard ship, the only successful ones are the ones who are able to make friends most dont and they lose control and the beast bust out and starts killing until its re sealed , also narutos mom was pretty much not allowed to walk around the village when really showing she was preggers

The 3rd thought that if people knew naruto was the 4th's son he would become a even bigger target then he currently was, kishi has stated the 3rd was the strongest dead shinobi ever even stronger then madara and the 1st, the 4th was only a hair behind the 3rd and would of taken that title if he didnt die so young, The 4th was pretty famous all around he was a genius among genius's the 3rd didnt want more attention drawn to naruto then he all ready had, i dont think its very logical but meh im not writing the story

would you look at that... turns out itachi had to use another genjutsu along with izanami... something that everybody with a brain was able to deduct after reading the manga except an idiot
