i thought it was pretty good

just got done with ep 1 of samurai champloo

and...it was good really good..leaves me wanting more

got to admit the main actor's voice is so familar to me though considering I watched gintama,one piece and now this

anyway really hoping the rest of the series continues to keep me this entertained

Found the mysteries and plot construction to be extremely messy and the initially likable setting and characters, especially the support cast, to gradually lose their charm due to poor development.
5/10 isn't too bad a score on my rating scale anyway. Gave the same score to AnoHana, Clannad, Darker Than Black, Akagi and Rainbow after all.

Also just watched Grave of the Fireflies and found it just a bit disappointing.
Don't think I've ever felt so guilty for being unable to sympathize with a character before though. I've cried to a lot of chineze cartoons but this completely failed to move me emotionally.
No idea whatsoever what score to give it. I recognize the splendid cinematography and direction but any movie that exists for the sole purpose of being poignant and then isn't would have a hard time ending on the really positive note that it might deserve.

You won't be disappointed. Samurai Champloo was great from start to finish.
