edo tensei brings you back at your prime meaning the rinnegan he gave away came back with him... when he was resurrected by obito with samsura of heavenly life, naturally, he lost his rinnegan since they're implanted in other people.

it doesnt bring you back in the prime, 3rd hokage. pretty sure its when you died madara who was modified is the exception.

the rinne tensei bringing madara back at that age is what is puzzling not why his eyes are gone imo...then the foolery that ensues with madara doing sharingan and maybe rinnegan shit(how he got the black flame off of him, his hair in particular)

On a side note. the 2nd should be able to use his own edo tensei on whatever he had stored unless he released them when he sealed the technique. it would provide a chance for izuna to play a role i mean naruto met his parents, obito/kakashi/gai, madara/1st/2nd/3rd, kakashi/4th, oonoki/muu

theoretically it's suppose to resurrect you at your prime according to kabuto and orochimaru..... the third hokage's resurrection was already discussed like 200 pages ago in this thread... yes, there are a lot of contradictions in naruto like madara using susanoo without any eyes
