I'm really confused about these movies, because everything happens so fast.

Do i need to watch the series before watching the movies?
or should i just watch the 3 movies?

Sadamoto’s Kaworu is very different from the mature boy we knew, he has a childish innocence. But Shinji is too stubborn to accept this Kaworu. Kaworu never had human feelings, until he gets Rei’s yearn for Shinji, he begins to seek out the feeling of “love” and “be loved”. Maybe Seele is right, humanity is stupid, they can never understand each other, they only hurt each other and hate each other. But as an Angel who is supposed to bring the end of humanity, Kaworu’s choice is to die by a human’s hand in the end. This is his only freedom, his last wish. The moment Shinji accepts Kaworu is the moment that they will be apart forever.
It is the beginning of the end of this story.


mmm , watching the series wouldn't hurt , it's slightly different than the movies , also I'd recommend End of Evangelion .

Were you paying attention , you know lilith , seele etc etc? If you've never seen the end of the series then it explains your confusion Lol . It has a lot to do with relgious beliefs , the main one here being Samsara .

You really don't have to , watch the series but it helps , I think it was from episode 12 on thats relevant (different relationship between Kaworu and Shinji that you saw) , 1.0 is pretty much the first 8ishh episodes with a little bit of changes , sorta rushed too .

Lol , Im trying so hard not to spoil .

First impact wasn't in the anime , but they describe it in 2.0 when Shinji sees lilith for the first time .

Lets put it this way , the first impact is the entire reason that NERV has layers , lilith crashes (first impact) NERV IS built over it .

Second impact was Kaworus birthday *cough*

Watch the series honestly lol , then end of Evangelion , it will help you understand Asuka a little more as well I really do not want to spoil it for you .

It seems like you missed a lot of important info in 2.0 though lol mainly Ritsuko's memory , I know theres no speech during it , but pay attention to those images .

Well End of Evangelion is actually 25 and 26 in the series (alternate ED), the way this story works is pretty much alternate happenings . Which is why we have the rebuilds .

hmmmm , Watch Episode 8 to the end of the series , and then watch end of Evangelion , then I guess watch the 2nd and 3rd rebuild again to see the differences (there are many trust me, things go very different )

Episode 8 is pretty much when Asuka joins the team but things go differently .

Everything before episode 8 was pretty much 1.11 , didnt miss too much lol .
