Just finished Season 1. There's something I didn't understand. I want to ask a specific question but please don't go into great detail explaining it too deeply and spoil things for me.

When they were in the CDC, they asked Jenner what he knew about the state of the outside world. The phrase "there's nothing left" came up repeatedly. I don't understand what this means. Discounting what he whispered in Rick's ear, was Jenner's overall message to the group that there was no part of America untouched from the zombies? I'm thinking like NORAD and/or wilderness areas in places like Montana.

Jenner's last communications with the outside world must have told him something more than the group knows. I don't understand what he told the group about that subject.

He said he lost contact with other CDC facilities and that the french were the last to hold out before going dark (this happened a month before Rick and the group showed up at the CDC). (going dark when the facility automatically destroys itself due to lack of fuel to stop the spread of the diseases being contained within) He states in his video blog that aired during the episode that the wldfire global outbreak has progressed for roughly 6 months, with the facilities going dark, it's safe to assume the rest of the world is in ruin.

Jenner never specifically said anything about the state of the world, he remained silent when he was asked. Andrea was the one who kept repeating "there's nothing left"
