Kinda surprised I haven't seen a thread about this series yet unless I totally missed it. Anyone watching?

1st episode = worth continuing
2nd episode = this will be a decent series
3rd episode = this is getting good
4th episode = awesome

That was my thought process watching the first 4 episodes (4th one is out on xfinity online so I'm a week ahead).

Anyways I think this is gonna turn into an awesome series. Kinda gives me a Game of Thrones feel without the fantasy element.

Nope it's a historical drama.

"Filmed in Ireland, Vikings is inspired by the tales about the Viking Ragnar Lodbrok, one of the best-known Norse heroes and notorious as the scourge of France and England. It portrays Ragnar as a Viking farmer who pioneers the first daring raids into England with the support of fellow warriors, his brother, and his wife, the shieldmaiden Lagertha."

Didn't get this feeling at all.

I wasn't too impressed with the first episode either but I really liked the next 3. Has lots of potential imo. I really enjoy swordplay (or in this case axe play) and warrior type stuff so it looks like my go to shows in the next couple of months will be Game of Thrones and Vikings.

I am enjoying the show. However I find myself hating, or having zero respect for the priest slave. He acts like he would want to protect his own countrymen, but his actions say otherwise. I mean, I know he said "God forgive me" when he "realized" what he did while Ragnar was trying to get a raid sanctioned, but come on, isn't it pretty damn obvious why he would be asking him about his surroundings? Just because the priest is being treated nicely, better than an average slave, he decides it's okay to freely give information to this guy who will obviously use it to kill more English people. He should be willing to die before he helps Ragnar.
