kk so i put all the parts together in a external build outside the case, and everything worked perfectly ( following the newegg guide on how to build it )
then now, i started the internal build by putting everything in, and now once everything was hooked up, i plug in the power supply, and now everything turns on for a brief second, then everything just turns off but the power light switch on my motherboard stays on, but when i hit the power button or the one on the motherboard, it doesnt do anything

both power cords are plugged into the motherboard, the main and the supp
idk whats wrong
can anybody help?

did you put the mounting screws on the case before you screwed the motherboard down?

If I am understanding your problem correctly this happened to me once before while building a comp. My case was shorting out the motherboard not letting it operate fully giving me a split second of power before going out. Check the mounting screws of the motherboard against the case and then hook everything up outside of the case as delicately as possible. If it starts up without problems it is the case itself that is causing issues and you will need a different one. Hope that helps, if I am misunderstanding the problem pm me and I might be able to help more with a different wording.

take everything out
and start again?
Make sure motherboard is grounded, and all the standoff are there
Make sure all wires are plugged in

most motherboards have little mounting screws you put over the holes on the case before you mount the motherboard so the motherboard isnt grounded by the case which would cause what you're describing to happen

naw the motherboard didnt come with screws
but i kinda figured out what the problem was,
once i plug in the led lights/power button from the tower into the motherboard, it causes that problem
and when i dont have it pluged in and just turn on the computer from just the motherboard, everything is fine, aka making the tower defective?

what should i do
