Well I have been thinking for years to buy a new computer, but I never got around to it.
I'm gonna put this computer on my company's bill, and I need one anyways now so (since I will be working some at home I'll afford myself the luxury).

Basically I want to get a good performance computer, and money is not that big of an issue (in Norwegian kroners 10-15k for a computer I see as sensible, which is about 2k usd).
Workrelated I am not going to be doing very demanding tasks, like graphic design etc. I just need it run smoothly and good.
And I want to be able to play games etc on my computer (I'm not that big of a player, but I'd like a good one for when Diablo III comes).

If you need more spesific info about my needs, post here and I will answer for all to see.

I will be buying a build upon the recommendations in this thread, and I will pay 100fg to the build that I choose, regardless if I actually buy the computer or not.

This is to be a stationary computer, I allready got a screen, but wouldn't mind a new keyboard and a mouse. I also got speakers allready. For os I'm thinking windows7? and microsoft office with outlook. I allready get Norman Antivirus from my bank.

Do you want us to make a build on a american site, or use a EU site?

I got a company that can put together the computer for me, so I could ask him for price of xxx parts.
-> Will be somewhat more expensive I guess, but it is local, and if I have trouble it's an actual shop nearby I can go to.
Or I could use a EU site to build the computer for me.
I'm from Norway, and I know www.komplett.no is popular.

This one from komplett.no costs about 2500usd for example:

I forgot to say I get back 20% of the price (tax), since I'm buying this on my company. So I guess they cost ~600 usd here

What are you going be using the computer for?
Mainly gaming? Or also other tasks such as encoding video, photoshop work, etc.

I would say for the performance use of the computer, the most demanding would be gaming.
Else I would be using simple programs through a server at work (not video or gfx work). Using excel etc.
I might be running a virtual machine ware with it's own windows to run access my server at work to be safer, but I'm not sure about that.

I want my computer to be speedy and easy to work with, opening pages, loading etc in windows, and being able to run simple programs smoothly + gaming.

Thats actually a nice website, hard to find a newegg rival, but it actually has some sexier stuff than newegg, like pre-combos for specific tasks already..

Heres the build, this is a 460 sli build, which means ur gona be able to play ANY game in this world at max settings.. It also has an i7 for multi tasking at 3ghz w/e ur gonna do, you're not even gonna be able to warm up this processor,.. 6gbs of ddr3 ram at 1600mhz, 1 tera of hd with 32mb cache and 7200 speed, plus 1000 watts from a modular power supply, which means ur not gona have spare cables hanged all over the computer.

And I find myself this a sexy case, good brand, pretty, 3 nice fans for cooling, etc.. love it myself.. but u can change this anyway, just make sure the 2 graphics card fit in there..

The Build

PS: 13121.00 nok = 2154 us dollars .. this is ur best bet, and u will have a computer that will last the next 3-4 years AT LEAST without a single problem or upgrade needed.. this processor is overkill, these 2 graphics cards are more than enough for every single game on this planet, 6gbs of ram, 1k watts power supply, etc..

This computer is also rdy for a graphical upgrade if u need after 2 or 3 years, u can just buy new graphic cards like 3x gtx470 and plug them all together with this motherboard..
