Why would you not overclock? Buying a z77 mobo and an i7 3770k would be a waste of money as well. You buy the unlocked version with a motherboard that allows overclocking and unlocked voltage to.. wait for it.. overclock?

if you want to future proof your rig build AMD dont waste your money on intel. yes intel makes a good product but the future is leaning towards AMD and if you dont plan on doing much either then gaming and streaming AMD is the way to go not to mention cheaper.

by futureproofing , he might mean that you won't need to buy another motherboard since amd has the tendency to stick with it's sockets.
but anyways , futureproofing doesn't exist.
but amd gives a better price vs performance then intel.
