What do you guys think? Wanted to stay around $800, but couldn't resist the 7870, and I know the cpu could be upgraded to an 8 core and the mobo up a notch, but I don't really have the funds to do so, so this is what I came up with.

Not a bad build....only thing I would change is get the ASUS M5A99X motherboard instead.

Thanks for the input, I'll check em out

Ok I changed a few things, since I can just get a windows cd key from someone, and go snag my parents disc to install to save me money, I actually dropped the price a bit and changed to the recommended motherboard above, and now I'm almost debating this:

How big of a upgrade would be it to take out my cpu and get the 8320 or 8350 8 core? Which one and why or am I fine with the 6 core?

I just want the best performance to last a few years and if its only $40 more and 100% worth it, might as well do it right the first time

the original mobo you had was fine.
only difference is that with the 990fx chipset you can crossfire or sli if you want to, but your psu wouldn't even provide enough power in the first place.
/e get the case + ram combo i posted ...
