So I stumbled onto the Schiit Magni amp and it seems pretty darn solid. Here's a video showing it driving the HE-4, 5, and HE-6 phones. (Very hard headphones to drive.) I am not sure on the SQ but it does the basics for sure, run current through the headphones enough to produce a high dBSPL; good enough for me. Only $99 too.

I have heard NOTHING but positive things about the new Schiit combo.

Its pronounced "Shit" btw. And you can fully trust them. They are 100% audiophile grade, and in fact are even all made in the United States (no china junk to cut-costs here). Their products are receiving warm reviews world round.

I guess their team just has a sense of humour calling their products Schiit.
