is it still apple or are there other companies that started to make good ultrabooks? mine is getting really old and needs replacement. the ssd feels slower than a good hdd. guess 4gb ram isnt up to date anymore as well.

shall i go with a macbook? all i need is something light and thin that can go for 9 or more hours without a plug. should be able to hold 2 OS.

dell xps 13 9370.

I'm personally waiting for Huawei Matebook X Pro. Probably the most complete laptop yet.

Don't support Apple.

I'm uncertain on if it will even reach US. It should hit the UK/EU marked in June.

I've been repairing quite a few macbooks the last few months. Actually doing one right now.
I soldered a capacitor which was broken which resulted in the system wouldn't power on.

Also took a random photo for the friend because he wanted an SSD as well.

Exactly. Everything is on point!
3000x2000 450nits display and the most amazing speakers you will find in an ultrabook (quad speakers with two on the top)
Smallest bezels on any laptop yet (91% screen-to-body ratio).
web-cam is hidden in the keyboard so it will be black when not in use (I have disabled my web-cam in BIOS on my Dell XPS for security reasons)
Thinner and smaller than macbook 13", even tho this is an 13.9" display.
Quad Core CPU and even a decent discrete GPU (MX150). The NVMe SSD they use are one of the fastest on the marked.

Also small details like able to open the screen with one hand, like on macbooks.
One thing i still want clarifed is if they use PWM in their monitors to control brightness. I haven't seen any flickering on youtubes reviews, which means they at least don't under 250hz.

We can discuss they copy Apple's Macbooks. But they take the best parts and add their own things. Like how freaking awesome is it with an USB-A on such a thin device! I still use a USB-A mouse and I would hate to carry around an adapter hub.

Some one PM me earlier. About reading that this Chinese company was putting malware in hardware on phones.

I told I've done quite a lot of research on the subject and there is no hard evidence, that this just snowballed from rumors to keep Huawei from the US marked.

Any spyware would be found in no time on android devices. The code would be easy to isolate and therefor be easy to prove.
The matter of fact is Huawei is making some amazing products matching quality and features of brands like Samsung and Apple. (I do no own one of their products, so this is not a fan perspective)

"The statements from Wray and others feel more like a “better safe than sorry” approach to consumer electronics. Perhaps Huawei, already the second largest smartphone maker in the world, could theoretically engage in malicious activities on behalf of the Chinese government if it became the dominant player someday. Although, this ignores the way mobile devices operate. Even minor security breaches are detected by researchers and developers (we cover them all the time on ExtremeTech). Huawei would be caught if it attempted to hide Chinese government spyware in an Android device, and such a revelation would destroy its business. The fact of the matter is, China probably wants a homegrown competitor to Samsung and Apple more than it wants to spy on US consumers."[/QUOTE]
