Hey guys!

I'm looking to upgrade my RAM. Currently I have 2x4 GB Patriot 1600 CL9 Series.

I want to upgrade @ 16GB, but I don't know if I should buy another pack of 2x4GB Patriot or simply buy some new ones like 2x8 GB

Online reviews are balanced so I'm not sure.

My motherboard is a MSI 970 Gaming.

What would you guys suggest?

thanks!

It's a toss-up as to whether it will work, the new sticks may have a different configuration despite being within the same specifications and won't necessarily be compatible

Thanks!
So I should get a new 16GB.

Do you have any specific/brand suggestions?

We would need to know what motherboard and CPU you have, to answer any compatibility questions.

/e If you're not sure of the exact model of motherboard, this program will tell us. just post a screenshot of the main page.

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.
