i knocked over a cup before this happened but it's hard to believe that it caused it because the cup definitely did not hit the monitor hard, maybe this was caused by a drop of water on the monitor that i didn't clean?

a pink line came up 1/5 up the bottom of the screen, branched in 3-4 lines at the bottom. i read that applying slight pressure might help, but it widened instead. is this an internal leak or dead pixels? i am running a pixel flashing app now but i don't know if it will help.

can it be fixed/repaired? i also would like to know where else i could post this in hardware forums by suggestion, thanks in advance

here's a photo of the area where it got spread

Rubbing out dead pixels does work but that isn't a dead pixel. Looks as if you cracked one if the LCD, er.. Well I don't mean the screen but it's like you displaced the liquid almost. Though it doesn't look like any dead pixels I've seen.

I've tried looking at pics on Google but I can't find any that even look close to it.

well it's basically a line that runs down, on most backgrounds it shows as pink, when i check different colors in full screen it seems like some red and green pixels aren't showing, in blue the line is almost invisible

*someone suggested that water might have gotten in, so i should try to dry it

That's a small crack you have there.

Not really, no. You can replace the whole panel but a cracked LCD really isn't fixable. I hope that's not a laptop.
