LOL bro this article has nothing to do with motherboards...it's about non volatile flash memory...by 2016 these SSD's using this memory will be on the market. The will also be able to endure 10 million write cycles instead of the 30K or 3K write cycles of todays SSD's.

Quote form the article:

Zurich, Switzerland, 30 June 2011—For the first time, scientists at IBM Research have demonstrated that a relatively new memory technology, known as phase-change memory (PCM)

A promising contender is PCM that can write and retrieve data 100 times faster than flash, enable high storage capacities and not lose data when the power is turned off. Unlike flash, PCM is also very durable and can endure at least 10 million write cycles, compared to current enterprise-class flash at 30,000 cycles or consumer-class flash at 3,000 cycles.

Z68 has a long lifespan though, and only barely writes too often.

you understand, that this article is about SSD chips, right? Not motherboard chipsets?

Wow, you are slow. z68 has a SSD in it, derp. It acts as a 40GB cache. Please don't open your mouth if you don't know anything.

Bro IBM just invented a new type of memory 100x faster that the current flash...and it's non volatile...it has NOTHING to do with the z68 chipset :/

Okay. You said SSDs will be worth it then, but they are worth it now, as the ones on z68s cost near nothing(a 10 dollar increase).

here is todays SSD performance |........... |

here is IMB's new PCM memory SSD's performance |.........................................................................................................................|
and they have at least 10 million write cycles, compared to current enterprise-class flash at 30,000 cycles or consumer-class flash at 3,000 cycles.

They will be here is 2016....on top of every thing else the PCM chips in these SSD's are NON volatile...that means NO data loss...when power goes out or fails ^^

Try to stay on topic and quit spamming totally unrelated cr*p....thx :)
