So when you have 2 processor in your mobo, does it add them up together or act just like cores.
Example:
2x Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz
Will give you 8 cores 5.12ghz? with 4x 512kb L1 and 16mb L3

or
2x Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz
Will just be seperated like cores, the computer will read both seperatly.

Unfortunately, the computer will read both separately, and normally, one won't be used.

There are some applications that do use both, however. These are professional apps.

the two different cpu's cannot work together as well as the multiple cores within the cpu's themself.

you MIGHT get some performance increase and some extra encoding power, but you will not see a huge improvement, i think they made those specifically to run multiple pci-e slots and ram sticks (8 ram slots instead of 4, 8 pcie slots instead of 4)

Isn't this used mainly in server / similar application processes? Where the major computing of the CPUs are to do very basic (but lengthy calculations), being able to fully utilize every core in every processor, lmk if I'm wrong.

there can only be one core i7 to a mobo.
and if there were two, their clocks wouldn't double just because there were two of them.

btw you're a faggot. stop spamming.

and i just noticed. 2.66 * 2 = 5.32 not 5.12

edit: typo
