My mom's mac video card has a receptor that fell off, do you think it is safe to play diablo II or leave it.

Maybe solder it back on?
You could try to find a schematic of the card and see if the "receptor" is needed for operation of the card.

I think you mean "capacitor". It may or may not malfunction without it. I've had boards lose caps and nothing happened (likely because it was a wire to a component that is unused or simply just superfluous), but others that wont work at all. Just use it, the worst that can happen is that you need a new card.

I found where it is suppose to be but I the metal thing is not there :/


The card worked fine for the past 2-3 weeks doing usual stuff, anime, youtube, forums.

Are you sure there was one in the first place? A lot of boards have solder spots for caps but they don't use them.

Ok I'll admin I ripped it off because it was dangling lol, I threw the metal in the garbage since it was ripped in half but I still have the capacitor.

If it was a regular Ol' laptop (not an Apple-Sauce) then I wouldn't be worried about it.

However;

Being an Apple computer, their ToS (Terms of Service) states that if you physically remove any part of the laptop/computer/ipod, your warranty is void.

Also, Apple computers are infamous for breaking over small issues. Beware.

Sucks.
