Why don't people do this, they buy custom parts with intel cpu and use mac os on their PC. A lot cheaper and same shit.

because you need a pirated copy of mac os to use it on a non mac built computer....

because the install process checks the hardware profiles.

It's against Apple's UAC to install OSX on anything other than a MAC.
A company out of FL, I believe, was selling knock off MACs using what we would use to make a gaming PC.
They coded their own crack to get by the OSX hardware tests. They did buy OSX to install, but they still broke the law so Apple sued them and shut them down.

This wasn't my point. I was pointing out that even if you buy the software or pirate it, you have to be able to get by the hardware checks. If you can do this then you can have a knock off.

The company above could make the 3rd party software to get by it.

Then comes the problem of updates and patches.

I may be wrong but I really believe that MAC fans enjoy not only OSX, but the whole hardware/software package look and feel and how apple ensures every peice of hardware
operates flawlessly with their OS.

MAC on a PC may not provide this, and I don't know how many people like OSX that much to try and get by their hardware checks.

I've installed this on my laptop(leopard 10.5.7) because I wanted to develop apps for iphone, but the driver support is lacking, no wireless for instance.
