Of course not don't figure me for a retard.

The 4 clips weren't pushed tight enough i guess when I originally put it on, the fan had some play.

I securely fastened them in, am going to give it a while to cool and then try again.

I believe that the play in the fan is what was causing my temps? no?

Well it's definitely not. I'm opening it up again and trying to reseat it tighter.. I do feel like there's some play.

The fans and everything are working fine, I figured even without paste it wouldn't be THAT high.

Without paste, not even gonna say something, you wanna fry it, go ahead.

This post is a violation of the site rules and appropriate action was taken.

Why do you keep saying without paste.

Paste pre applied to processor heatsink fan, but I didn't have any myself to lather the chip in until tomorrow.

That being said, I figure if intel is shipping their chips and their hsf's with just preapplied thermal on the hsf then that should be at least satisfactory.

Like I said, with fan well attached now i'll see temps

the thermal on the bottom of the hsf is barely altered becuase the fan was so loose

why are you such a cunt anthrax

Why are you so mad? Stupid pothead doesn't understand anything. Firstly, once removing paste, unless for less than a couple minutes, you need to reapply. Their shit is shit, and you get what you paid for. 80C is way too high for a sandy bridge.

I told you that the paste was virtually undisturbed due to the fact that the fan was so loose.

On top of that, it only took less than a minute to go "click click click click" without even having to take the fan off of the chip.

Again, why are you being such a cunt?

I let it sit for 15 minutes, right now it's idling at like 40C.. Ambient 25c

I'll admit that's even still higher then I'd like to see them.. but until I grab me some paste I don't think it's killing anyone @ 40.

I suppose I could game a bit and see how high they get under a little stress.
