This is just one tiny reason why I HATE Windows 7....

WDC WD3000 is my C:, D:, and E: drives.
WDC WD1001 is my F: and G: drives.
WDC WD1002 is my H: and I: drives.

Because Windows 7 doesn't let ME have control of MY computer. Post edited to make it more clear.
WDC WD3000 is my C:, D:, and E: drives, and was the only drive connected when I installed Windows. So, Win 7 just decided for me, which was Disk0, Disk1, Disk2, etc...even against what the BIOS, and I, told it to decide.

It's a fairly simple concept, I paid for my comp, Microsoft didn't. ^^

You're mad because the drives are out of order?

You can change that you know.

No you can't...the BIOS has them in order on the ports. Of the four ways to view my HDD's in Win7, only any TWO agree. There is NO WAY to get the Disk #'s AND drive letters in order.

/e Now on XP you could do it...but not on the new and improved Win7 LOL

Yes, yes you can.

Surely you should know this since you spend half your time looking at how to tweak windows.

well U explain it to me...remember the Disk #'s have to match the BIOS and the drive letters have to be in order. Also, there must be NO System Reserve Partition.

/e and even then, IF it was possible...Disk Management and My Computer won't agree.

/ee I also discovered why no one in their right mind uses Windows 7 Backup software...It has zero to no configuration options and can't even mildly compress a backup image...AND takes twice as long to make an uncompressed full sytem Image back than Acronis does....and compressing is supposed to take LONGER :/

/eee Currently I have 22GB of data on my C: partition....Windows backup...makes a 26GB backup...Acronis makes a 7.8GB backup, on the lowest (least) compression level....and both restore the C: partition perfectly LOL
