More Info:

Bitdefender Internet Security 2013

Things I've noticed that aren't mentioned above.

1. FF take 7-10 seconds to open, instead of 1 or 2 seconds
2. Speedtest.net readings are whacked with this installed.
3. Adds maybe 15 secs to boot time, but that's because it's seriously checking everything as it boots.
4. It has some weird UI items...nothing the average person couldn't figure out..but still.
5. Slow ass scan...when scanning like the C:/ drive (HDD in my case)
6. Oh, and it offers a Vulnerability Scan which scans for missed Wijndows update, missed app updates, etc., for example..I only ran it and unchecked everything except Critical Windows updates. If I would have let it have it's way...every Optional update I didn't install (including the dreaded driver updates, and worst of all, Bing Desktop and Silverlight would have been installed as well.

All in all I think the program is fantastic scanner and will find anything...but I'm not too sure the UI is quite what's needed for the average user. It's gorgeous, just to many choices and not enough descriptions.


Other than these issues, great product....however, they had me download a tool to see where if any software or Windows conflicts exist, and said I would hear from them in 28-48 hours.
So, if they can't find a conflict with some other software, I may just return it.

Final Info:

Well apparently Bitdefender Internet Security and Malwarebtes Pro...both paid versions....CONFLICT with each other, resulting in some serious slowdowns, even when NOT actively running scans with one or both programs.
So after running their where is the conflict tool, and their analyzing of the log, they explained that Malwarebytes Pro (not free) was the source of the slowdowns.

So I called and explained that that wouldn't do...and what did I have to do to return the product. They will email me in 24-48 hours. They SAID, there will be no problem with the refund...but will see I guess ^^

'Nother UPDATE:


Just called EVGA and asked if now that the TITANS were in stock was my GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB eligible for their step-up program, which has to be done within 90 days of purchase. They said I could step up to a GTX 690...but not to the TITAN.
I asked why, they said, they aren't included in the step-up program....yet...but may be when the GTCX 780 comes out.

So now it's a race...if the GTX 780 comes out before my 90 days runs out...AND if they decide to then include the TITAN in the step-up program...I will do that. If not, no worries, it's not like D2 is straining my GTX 680

NEW Review:

1. Disable vulnerability updates, unless you have a serious backup system...one of it's problems is that it will download all Windows Updates...like the generic vid drivers etc...not a good idea.
2. Slowness was caused by Malwarebytes Pro...real time scanner AND Bit Defenders real time scanner conflicting with each other. I simply went back to the free version of Malwarebytes (w/o the real time scanner) and all slowness has ceased.
3. I especially like the Firewall...any program or file tries to access the internet and you get a good old Zonealarm type allow or deny. No more trying to decipher Windows 7 firewall Micro-speak

Needless to say I am quite happy with Bit Defender Internet Security 2013.
