All the router reviews have the ASUS as #1 right now.

I give my vote for Asus RT-AC66U Gigabit Dualband 802.11ac. We have one of those at work and works like a charm with 20+ users and it is fast!

haven't played with a ton of router but I have this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=33-122-326&ParentOnly=1&IsVirtualParent=1
strong signal and seems to handle speeds very well

Haha, I'd love to do that but I don't have a spare computer (nor do I want to pay the power bill for a 300 watt router, LOL)  not sure how much luck I'd have getting something like that to work as intended anyway.

actually , here's an idea of what would do the job as a router : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Zom3 + hard drive or flash drive to install the os on it.

just get a compatible wireless adapter & you're done. unless you want to turn your computer into an access point , then you'd just need to follow this guide : http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/maryfi-software-router-turns-windows-7-computer-into-wifi-hotspot/

but in anyways , i just wanted to post some information for those who are curious.
