Hey guys sorry, feel like I am spamming the forum with questions lately but would really like your opinion.

I really love my new card: https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-ZT-P10800C-10P-Wraparound-Ultra-wide-PowerBoost/dp/B01GCAVRSU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1470950193&sr=8-2&keywords=zotac%201080

It was one of the few in stock and not stupid priced. The only thing I really don't like about it is the ugly zotac symbol on the side that lights up:

I was expecting it to be metal or plastic but as I messed with it I got it off really easily and it wound up being rubber. The back is clear and the top is black:

I have the resources to create a steel/aluminum insert to glue back in. I have some concerns about that heating up too much though. I assume that is why they didn't use plastic there in the first place.

Any ideas on creating a custom insert for the side?

Metal would be fine. They used rubber because it's cheaper.

/e I would use aluminum.

/ee If they were concerned with heat, they would use nylon, rather than metal screws all around the vid card.

You are the fastest. I have access to a C&C milling machine. I can throw whatever design I want in it. Not much real estate though. Think I will put my past name.

/e Just thought of another thing.
If they were concerned about heat, they wouldn't make the chassis outta plastic.

Aluminum would dissipate heat better than steel, and be just as easy to work with if you have access to a cnc machine. Plus aluminum looks better.
