So the old topic i got alot of help but it started too look a little sloppy. Figured I should post a new one to help me out with what I am looking at now.
I'm Ready to purchase when ever but have a laptop at the moment so can also wait for deals.
Though im not convinced I will find any given then CDN dollar at the moment.

Purpose: Light gaming, (like runescape, hearthstone) Internet browsing, Word processing (main purpose), Streaming movies to the TV and the like.
Budget: Under $1000 CDN
Priority: Build Quality > Specs

I am seriously Considering the Zenbook because i hear great reports about them. I do not want something that going to fall apart. I am avoiding acers on that principle.
I am coming from a Mac which I love but looks like I can get alot more power by leaving mac behind.

I have a fairly powerful Desktop computer that CHD helped me with, which will be where I will play games like fallout 4, This computer really is only for some lighter usages, while watching tv or travelling/ working.

I mean at this point I think it's just preference :P
Those are all pretty nice laptops.

The first is the most portable and least powerful, the last is the most powerful.

I'd probably choose one of those based on my wants, as there really isn't anything in the middle between portable and powerful.
all of the middle laptops are about equally portable as your last one, but all less powerful. ^^

I think your price is off on the ge62 apache 276.
I'm looking at getting one of the msi models also, and it's 1,399$ CAD on newegg for the model you listed.

oh crap you are right, you can see that the link is .com i ended up on the US newegg somehow. that pretty well takes that out of the contest.

I was stuck between the zzenbook and that because it seemed like such good value, now that i realize my mistake i guess ill do the zenbook.

So removing that option and Removing the 555UB ( the 150$ is too much for the upgraded processor im left with The following
+ XPS 13 (which i have been told to consider, thought it looks weaker than the Zenbook)

I have a Zenbook Prime and love it, I also have one that I bought when the Zenbook was available for under $1k with a dedicated graphics (base specs were i7 3517, 4gb ram, 2x 128gb SSDs, 620m/HD4500 switchable graphics, backlit keyboard, 1080p IPS LED screen, upgraded it to 10gb of RAM (only one slot accessible) and have loved this thing)

It is very light, thin, if you turn the background brightness down and don't use it for games you can get 4-6+ hours of solid battery life, you can go all day if you use the sleep and rapid restore functions

It isn't the most powerful graphics, but it has been enough to play L4d2, Killing floor, Warhammer 40k2, Terra, DDO, EQ2, Neverwinter, Bioshock 1/2/infinite, New Vegas, etc, I run it with 2 128gb slim USB 3.0 flash drives full of games and an external 500gb USB 3.0 drive, also full of games

Get the zenbook, the I5 is a bit more powerful than the M but you are going to get better battery life with the M, and the zenbook is quite a bit cheaper (at least, when I look at the site the pricing is $870 vs $999

or wait until black fri/cyber Monday, its only 3 weeks
