So I bought a condo couple years ago, it's still being built. About 1 year away from being done.

They are asking me to tell them if I want any electrical upgrades done now.

I will probably have a 100" or something TV in my condo...but the question I have is whether mounting is worth it.

The condo will have metal studs behind the drywall...which I hear is TERRIBLE for mounting TV's. I'd be scared to mount a TV so big...like it would probably easily fall over.

If I did want to mount though...I could ask for a power outlet mid-way up the wall. I could also ask for PVC pipe behind the wall to wire non-electrical cables (e.g. HDMI, etc.).

So the questions I have are:

Quote
1) Should I mount the TV? Or just put it on a stand?
2) Should I get a power outlet put mid-way up the wall (e.g. it would be behind the TV)?
3) Should I get a PVC pipe put in behind the wall to wire non-electrical cables?

Thanks bro's.

Eh, you won't be able to afford a 100 inch TV, (even if you can they are extremely overpriced) these cost like $10,000+ (Panasonic has a 103" plasma that retailed for about $50,000 a few years ago) and Sharp had a 108".

Biggest you can get within reasonable price is the 90" Sharp LCD.

Soo ehh, I would just forget the idea of a 100 inch tv completely. If your condo is currently under construction I would make it so that you can control the ambient light in the room with shades and therefore get a projector. a Sony HW50 costs $3000 and will blow any 90+" TV off the water in terms of picture quality. It even surpasses the PQ of most if not all flagship LED/LCD tvs and rivals upper mid range plasmas.

If you living room has too many windows and you can't adequately dim the lights then I suppose you have no choice but to go for a TV... Then I would put it on a stand than to mount it on a wall.

This is the 90" Sharp: http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-LC-90LE657U-90-inch-Aquos-1080p/dp/B00DBYE1ZM/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1E5SGTD8Y8VEGEFHC47Q (its picture is very mediocre)

The Panasonic: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TH103PF12U-1080p-High-Definition-Plasma/dp/B004VW9QC6/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1403567863&sr=1-2&keywords=103+inch+panasonic $27k

100inch = 8.33 feet on an angle.(it's always measured by corner to corner)
so the tv is really like 5 x 4 feet which is much wider then a couch.

I would rip up the wall and put the proper support to mount it.
Considering you have such a disposable income.

a 100 inch TV is 220cm wide and 125cm high, minus the bezel.

Put it on a stand, in case you ever want to move it.

would go with mgs4 suggestion of projector if can be done, there are some high lumen projectors like 20k lumen but no clue on quality

or go with 70ish in the center of 8 50's,

70 for the main and 50's for multi tasking
