Proper Backups will save you tons of hassle.

Updated instructions for EITHER......ONE or TWO hard drives

First get these two programs...they will work on any windows version.

Easeus Partition Master:

http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

Macrium Reflect: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp

For Comps with ONE HDD:
1. Install both of these programs.
2. Use Easeus to "resize" your system partition, to somewhere between 40-100GB
3. Then with the remaining space, create two more primary partitions. One at 100GB and the other with w/e is left over.
4. Run all your cleaners, scans, reg cleaners...etc, then run disk defragmenter a few times...till it won't defrag any more.
5. Now use Macrium Reflect to creat a FULL Image backup of your system partition and save it on the 100GB
partition you created in step #3.
6. When using only one HDD, backing up or restoring from backup...take about 15-20 mins.
7. Lastly, make the Rescue CD with Macrium Reflect, so you can access your backups, even when Windows won't boot.

For Comps with more than one HDD:
1. Install both of these programs.
2. Use Easeus to "resize" your system partition, to somewhere between 40-100GB
3. Now, since you have TWO HDD's...you have the option to store backups of the system partition on the 2nd HDD.
4. This is a GOOD thing, as it cuts down the backup or restore operation to 3-5 mins, because it's not reading and writing
from the same HDD.
5. Use Easeus again to do your partitioning...generally with 2 HDD's you will want to store your system backups on about a
100GB primary partition on the 2nd HDD.
6. Run all your cleaners, scans, reg cleaners...etc, then run disk defragmenter a few times...till it won't defrag any more.
7. Now use Macrium Reflect to creat a FULL Image backup of your system partition and save it on the 100GB
partition you created on your 2nd HDD, in step #5
8. Lastly, make the Rescue CD with Macrium Reflect, so you can access your backups, even when Windows won't boot.

Generally, I make new system partition FULL Image backups after I have done a few program upgrades or installs. This
proceedure is the best solution because when restoring your comp from a FULL Image backup (pre-cleaned backup)...it
completely OVERWRITES the system partition with your previously saved CLEAN backup...thus erasing all the cooties you
may have picked up since you made the last backup.

NOTE: for SSD's ofc, defragging is not necessary, nor is resizing a good idea.

How to post a screen shot.

This is not the ONLY method but it will work in ALL cases, whether u run in windowed mode or not.

1. In game, use cursor to highlight item, then hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard. This will save the image to your D2 folder as: Screenshot###.jpg
2. Open Paint or w/e Image Editor you use and use FILE > Open and BROWSE to the screenshot you want in your D2 folder.
3. Edit your image to your liking, aka crop it, combine multiple images into one large image etc.
4. Then use FILE > Save as... make sure image is in .jpg form and choose "Desktop as the lacation to save the image to.
5. Now go to either www.tinypic.com or www.imageshack.com and BROWSE to the image you just saved to your desktop, and click the upload button.
6. At tinypic.com the BOTTOM link is the correct one, at imageshack.com the 2nd link from the TOP is the correct one....
7. On either site right click the CORRECT link and choose: select all, then right click then link a 2nd time and choose: copy.
8. Now it time to post you image on JSP or most any forum for that matter.
9. Create your Topic and add any text you want, like the price of the item, or taking offers etc.
10. At the top of the topic post window, is a tiny icon that looks like a mountain with a moon over it...click that icon.
11. This will create the following: in your topic...just hold the Ctrl key and hit the V key to paste your link.
12. If done correctly, it will look like this: and when you preview or post your topic the image will show as it should.
13. This is the same method used to insert an avatar and/or signature in you profile...
14. The Avatar posting area in located in: Profile > Settings > change Avatar and the Signature is located IN you Profile...just click the little white icon after the word signature.
15. For plain desktop screenshots....just hit Print Screen Key and screenshot will be saved to your "clipboard"....just open your Image editor and choose: Edit > Paste. Be aware the "clipboard can only store ONE image at a time.
16. Lastly, you must have a certain number of posts (15....I think) BEFORE you CAN post images.

Corsair Rolls Out The Quiet 8GB SE Arctic White Vengeance Low Profile Memory
Posted 08/03/2011 at 10:48am | by Brad Chacos

Corsair's Vengeance LP line of DDR3 memory was made for big builds (with big cooling systems) stuffed into little cases; these low-profile kits clock in at an itty-bitty 1.03 inches, nearly half the height of most of the other memory out there. The newly available Corsair Special Edition Arctic White Vengeance Low Profile memory targets a couple other niches, too. It's still short, but the Low Profile White also runs at a scant 1.35V that Corsair claims makes it perfect for whisper-quiet PCs or builds suffering from low voltage constraints.

Want specs? We got specs. The 8GB kit consists of two "rigorously-screened 4GB DDR3 DRAM modules, guaranteed to operate at 1600MHz with a tested latency of 9-9-9-24," according to the company's press release. You can buy it now on Corsair's website.

To coincide with the launch of the memory kit, the company posted an article on its blog in which they whipped together a whisper-quiet custom PC using – you guessed it – the Corsair Special Edition Arctic White Vengeance Low Profile memory, along with a host of other parts (for, you know, everything else). Check it out for an interesting read.

Intel to Ship Sandy Bridge-E in November, Prevent Balls to the Wall Overclocking of Ivy Bridge
Posted 08/01/2011 at 9:00am | by Paul Lilly ...of www.MaximumPC.com

Waiting for Intel to launch Sandy Bridge-E before overhauling your system? According to the latest online chatter, you'll have to hang tight until November as Intel works ferociously to tweak its Waimea Bay platform at least one more time. It appears Intel is a bit concerned about AMD's FX processor refresh coming in early 2012, VR-Zone says, but at the same time will make cuts to its X79 chipset in order to get a shipping product out the door in 2011.

VR-Zone says Intel isn't so much concerned with hitting the holiday shopping season with Sandy Bridge-E as it is in shipping to system integrators preparing for next year's system specs. Combined with the concerns over AMD's FX-refresh, it's a safe bet Intel will ship Sandy Bridge-E on time, albeit with a stripped X79 chipset. SAS support is reportedly being taken out, and it will end up very similar to the current P67 chipset with just two SATA 6Gbps ports and four SATA 3Gbps ports.

It gets worse. VR-Zone claims to have the skinny on Intel's mainstream 22nm Ivy Bridge (socket 1155) platform shipping in 2012, and it's not good news for overclockers. Apparently Intel has decided to implement just a single base clock option for Ivy Bridge above the 100MHz of Sandy Bridge, and that's 133MHz. Rumor has it Intel doesn't want Ivy Bridge to compete with its Sandy Bridge-E (socket 2011) platform, which is what would happen if Intel gave users more base clock options to play around with.

On the bright side, enthusiasts will be more likely to build around the more flexible Sandy Bridge-E platform to begin with, but for overclockers on a budget, it appears you'll only be able to take Ivy Bridge so far.

Windows 7 god mode folder:

So, what exactly is God Mode in Windows 7?

Rather, it's a folder packed with shortcuts to just about every settings change and administrative function in Windows 7. Everything you'll find in the Action Center, Backup and Restore, Autorun, Desktop Gadgets, Devices and Printers -- it's all there. All dumped in one central location for easy access.

* Create a new folder anywhere.
* Rename the folder and paste in the following text: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

In 2-3 seconds the folder will change to a blue-ish Icon, which contains all the Windows 7 settings in one sorted location.
