I haven't seen any official clarifying what kind of mob skills are categrized as melee as well as ranged
Needless to say about normal attack such as literally 'melee attack' and ranged attach like arrows
But what about elites' skills, like dececrator / firechain /molten as melee attack while arcane sentry as ranged attack?
If that's true, then String of Ears will definitely replace my current belt with 70 all res.

I dont remember the classification for everything but if you have a wiz go test in norm/nightmare with ice armor.

Ice Armor- Crystallize:

Whenever you are struck by a melee attack, your Armor is increased by 15% for 30 seconds. This effect can stack up to 3 times.

desecrater damage is only affected by armor i believe.

all I know is theres no resists that affect it :/

you're probobly refering to the "melee dmg reduction" mod, probobly doesnt apply to desecrater
