I'm not questioning the "sickness" of the pants. The question is the potential gain vs that investment. If not every other slots more or less is maxed out you can get a better overall gain in any other slot and get like..a 75 str pair of pants and spend the rest of your 900 worth of gold on something else.

There are almost no barb where this investement makes sense.
