Hi guys
For those who don't know Hifzul is a player who's in trusted guild. There have been a lot of accusations about him scamming people with his alt HifzulA, he claims it is someone else pretending to be him
Anyway I've been friends with the guy for several months and I think I can finally shed some light on the whole situation
Background
First some important background about our relationship:
I met him randomly a couple of months ago, at the time we both had a 5/8 wiz as our main. Ever since we've been friends but also rivals (maybe only in my mind) competing over who has the highest number of maxed char's. At the time I was always ahead but recently he's been winning
Anyway during this period I got the impression that not only were we competing but also that he wouldn't mind fucking me over to get ahead, he gave me this impression in two ways: The first was when he'd die he'd always beg me for stuff and complain that he had nothing/completely broke, then I'd give him stuff, then like a day later it would turn it he was doing fine and had plenty of good characters/stuff. I've given him lots of pots etc over the months but don't remember ever getting anything back
The second far harder to ignore thing was when I got my first decent drop ASS, at the time price guide said 25-35 but the buff had been announced and people were buying it in town for 8 life. Anyway when I told hifzul about the drop he was desperate to buy it off me, after turning down his initial offer of 14def and lots of begging I eventually sold to him for closer to 25. Only after did I see people were now buying for 50def, after talking to him he said it was for a guild friend who no-longer had it either. I find it quiet hard to believe that he was so desperate to buy something for someone else.
Anyway a couple of months passed and we were both doing rather well in the game at this point, but then something happened to hifzul. He had 3x 8/8 char at this point and had just got into trusted but then he managed to loose it all. Apparently his account got hacked when he downloaded something a player told him would get rid of lag, then the hacker deleted 2 of his characters, also shorted after he died with his last character and was left with nothing.
Anyway he was rather depressed as we've all been when hitting 0, ready to quit etc. But I encouraged him to keep going, gave him few pots etc, few days later gave him mnova. He also kept asking if he could try out coral bow with his hunterss which I eventually agreed to and was given it back without any problems
Then a couple of weeks later and he had completely recovered, had like 8/8 7/8 7/8 ammy's tops, I couldn't believe how quickly he had gathered that much wealth from 0 and asked him about it, I assumed at the time he had just bought stuff with paypal but he insisted he had farmed it all.
It was shortly after this that I first learn about hifzula scamming people and obviously had my suspicions
After this I didn't have much contact with him which is generally the case when he's doing well, when he's not I get lots of requests to run sprite etc
Event
Anyway a few days ago I run into him again and we catch up, I hadn't been doing as well after archer and wiz had died but had just recovered and wanted to show off, I told him that my char would soon be 8/8, 8/8 and 7/8 and I showed him my stashed wealth which was 4 item (2xammy,coral bow,cwand)
A couple of hours later Hifzula messages me for the first time and asks if I'm selling ammy
Anyway I decide to try and ascertain if hifzula is really hifzul and start asking him questions that only hifzul would know
I say 'what items did i show you earlier?' He doesnt say anything so i say '2 were coral bow and cwand, what were the other 2?'
At the same time he finally answers 'there was a bow and an ammy' so I say 'right one was ammy, what was other one?' he says 'ammy' i say '2 ammys ?' he says 'yes you have lots of ammy'
So I try a different question, I say what were the stats on my characters i told you about? he doesn't answer for a bit and eventually says 'wait they were 8/8 and 8/8 cant remember other one'
Anyway so far he had got all the answers right but was being a bit vague and leaving off some information
I finally asked 'i know easy one, how old are you?' he replies 'dude why so many questions?' i say 'cos your some rand I need to know if your hifzul. just say how old you are'
He says 16 which is what hifzul had told me his age was previously (apparently hifzuls birthday was recently and he's now 17 but 16 was the answer I was looking for and given)
Anyway at this point I though I might as well assume that hifzula is hifzul and said 'Dude! stop scamming people, is that how you got so rich so quickly?'
No response
Anyway I'm stil a bit confused by it all and think that I might as well wait and see if hifzul does anything before making up my mind. As I've said I don't have as much contact with him when he's doing well and wouldn't have expected him to contact me again under normal circumstances
But sure enough a couple of hours after the incident and hifzul starts messaging me, I'm in OT and don't respond at first because i don't notice. But he's messaged me repeatedly ever few seconds saying 'dude' 'DUDE?' 'talk to me?' rather than assuming I'm afk he assumes I'm ignoring him eventually I answer 'soz doing OT, whats up?' to which he responds 'do you hate me?'
Anyway he obvious knew something was up without any indication from me and as I said I normally wouldn't have expected to hear from him at all
Excluding the fact that he answered all the questions correctly I find the timing of everything to be far too convenient and think I have no choice but to assume he is a scammer
