I just stole frost and completed the quest by persuading the dude (louis or w/e).

My original horse that I bought in Whiterun is nowhere to be found.

Your original horse will return to it's stable that it was purchased from. Go to the whiterun stables and wait like 24 hours, if it still didn't show up, your horse was killed during the way back, probably by a dragon.

np, i've found my old horse dead on the road in between the whiterun and the darkbrotherhood sanctuary after getting shadowmere from the dark brotherhood, elder dragon dropped it.

I was gonna say, just get shadowmere. Fastest horse in the game, plus he cannot die On top of that he follows you every time you fast travel or exit a dungeon.

Or he could get skyrim for pc and just be like, horses? Nah man, fucking mammoths

or be Alduin?
