i'm not that excited. you can hardly make a mmo using this kind of leveling system, they're have to revert back to the old bad plain XP for killing monsters system, and that removes half the fun of playing an elder scroll :(

not sure why you say that when even the earliest mmos used this kind of leveling system.

What mmos's used this kind of system exactly, and were they good enough to gather any success? earliest mmo's i played was rag online, guildwars and wow. I watched some friends play everquest, looked horrible though

well...the first mmo was UO, which used this sort of leveling system and was good enough to spawn a new genre of game. Its followed in many others since then.
