Hi everyone, its been a while since my last WT who has (finally) been a success (singer barb, check my sign.)

I did 3 other WT after this one (melee necro, cleric, curse necro) but the necros died in diablo norm and the cleric died at beginning of nm and I was too lazy too post pictures after he that!


My wife works the weekends for a couple of time so I will be able to play a little bit with a Cleric!


I've read on this build... there are not so many builds... a defensive one and a more ''offensive'' one. We'll see what it will be, but I mixed the two ideas and I'm aiming for something like this:

20 prayer
20 holy bolt
20 blessed hammers
20 Fist of Heaven
1 to all defensive auras except fire, light and cold rezz and meditation (after I get an insight and salvation), so Ill respect in nm.
Rest in cleansing I guess or something useful, ill know better with some gameplay

Rules
- I must only use staff as weapon after I get enough gold to buy one at Akara
- No offensive auras at all
- Only combat skill I can use are Holy bolt, Hammers and Fist of Heaven... other I can just put 1 point because I need it to get FoH (so no conversion)
- Ladder runewords enabled, but no big stash
- Alwasy P8 except countess I guess
- ... and bla bla bla as usual if i forget something!


My goal is simple this time, just reach hell. There is no way I can succeed. It took SOOOO much time with my singer barb, but at least it was very safe with high HP, stun and Leap. Now, the only thing I can do is heal and I must stay far because I have no shield so not much resist too.

Ill put points in prayer first, but dont know which path I will take for norm.... we'll see!

I plan to use meditation on insight with cleansing major part of the time for a double (maxed) prayer aura, then use other defensive aura when I need (redemption, salvation, vigor). After that... kill in norm... heal merc in nm and hell haha (big strategy!)

My main item will be insight in a 4os staff... so my first question is : When can I find/shop one? Nm? Act 5 norm?? Thank you

Norm cows amy be your first concievable iLvl zone to farm a 4 os staff. Or you could use a norm socket as its a fairly game changing item for your build.

Either way its a lofty goal! My question is which merc will you choose? Act 5 may offer you the best dps/safety combo due to stun. Or a2 holy freeze.

Either way a merc only walk will be painful. Gladly FOH does somewhat decent dmg versus things like fallens if you can scale it with enough +skills gear and its lack of FCR need means skills can out prioritize fcr.

Personally i would think you need to get to around +3-4 skills overall by early/mid nm to do any dmg to monsters in that area. Andy should be farmable with poi eliminated however so there is that. And pallys have the 2nd best mobility of all classes with charge/vigor, which is infinite (or near) with insight out.

Eventuall an item like a najs puzzler for tele swap or runecollector for mf/skill swap would be a good 2nd option. Good Luck!

Thanx for the tips! I thought about using Act 2 merc with holy freeze... but I dont know much about A5 merc... would they be good???
