I'd like to play a character that I can enjoy and be successful with at the same time.
If you have any input on the character/classes listed above, or on one of your personal favorites that isn't listed, please feel free to post that!

My goals/rules would be:
1. That mod that gives me extra cube space + ladder recipes is allowed.
2. No maphack/etc/other mods besides the mod listed above for the direct reasons as said above.
3. HC P8 at all times
4. Re runs and LK runs allowed (I've never done LK runs before though , so this'll be a first )
5. Re stats allowed

Goals would be:
1. Defeat the Hell Baal
2. Defeat Hell Cows (Except cow king, as I would want to farm the map frequently)
3. Defeat Uber Tristram
4. Obtain certain gear (Depends on which char I play, naturally)

Claw, Java and Frenzy barb would have the best chances of defeating Uber Trist, I think.

Barbs are very safe, with BO you get ridiculous amount of health. I remember at level 85~ or so, one level in vitality (5 stats) and one point in BO was almost 100 life. They rely on weapons and CB tho. Somewhat slow killers before you have good > items.

Javas do very well too. The only real problem they have is Lightning Immunes. Getting some physical damage from upped Titans or something like that is great. That together with Lay on Hands makes it possible to farm all parts of the game. LF is so strong!

Clawsins are also heavily relying on items. A pair of good claws and some CB is crucial. Fade, Mind Blast, Shadow Warrior, Claw Block and all those skills gives nice survivability too.

Barbs and Assassins if you want to farm bosses mostly. Javas can do both bosses and level 85 areas.
