It's also the 2nd highest defense armor you can get off of a rack (shadow plate is higher but needs level 84 area, archon plate needs level 85 area but defense is lower).

Armor Stand/Weapon Rack: Item Level = area level - 1. In the case of Durance of Hate Level 3 (H), a level 83 area: Item Level = 83 - 1 =
82.
