Wasn't long ago that I tried a werewolf titan that could only use rares and blues and crafts. Almost forgot his name, Timarchus. If you want to visit the thread here it is:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=74071423&f=161Sad ending for me. He felt pretty good but couldn't handle Hell Arcane Sanctuary and the phyz immunes. Thought I'd try again with Hops. Here are the rules:
Titan for me is all strength and enough dex to equip weapons.
Finish Hell.
Find kickass rares.
No uniques (except stone of jordan for making sockets...this actually happened in Timarchus' thread)
No sets.
No runeswords.
Runes and jewels and gems allowed in sockets (just no rune words.)
Blues allowed (shopped or found)
Whites/Grey items allowed.
No hacks at all.
No extended stash. (one of these days I'll figure out how to get that pluggy thing working but I like the minimalist approach.)
P1 countess allowed after P8 countess quest (need to upgrade items!)
One important change on Timarchus, I want to be able to use any druid build but only have 3 restats to play with. With Timarchus, I thought I might try a fireclaw bear but died in hell arcane trying to out wit them baddies with werewolf mode. If I get stuck, I might restat to Elemental for Arcane but will remain a titan and will switch back to shapeshifter for obvious reasons--really don't want to do this though.
So the Storyline is minimal. And as all wolves begin their journey in Diablo2, it all starts in Gheed's Tavern over good ale. Yes, besides being a circus master and running a big time gambling joint, Gheed also has the best brew in Bloodmoor. Gheed is adept at mashing barley and mixing this and that in his Gheed Ale. And one day, a young fellow asked Gheed for work. Gheed took the young man on in apprenticeship of beer maker. Eventually the young fellow became known as Hops for his particularly bittersweet ales. His stint at Gheeds was longer than most due to his diligence, but like most folks in Bloodmoor, Hops eventually developed wanderlust. Besides, he also drank too much of his own brew so Gheed had to give Hops his walking papers.
So Hops went to his favorite hideout in bloodmoor, the hops hedge works:

Well, while mulling around the overgrown and distinctive vines in Bloodmoor, a mad dog bit Hops. It all happens so fast. We all know what it means to be bit by a mad dog--Not rabies or Zika. Next Full moon, Hops was told to leave the Rogue Encampment due to the onset of shape shifter disorder--nobody wants a young and and vicious and uncontrollable shapeshifter around. So Hops was escorted out of the Rogue Encampment by some old Shapershifters and given some shapeshifter survival tips. Hops was also quested to solve a mystery before he could return to The Rogue Encampment. "Find out what happened to Timarchus and bring back his likely dead body if possible." The old shapeshifters advised Hops to live and think and eat like Timarchus. In this way, Hops might more effectively find Timarchus. The last words Hops was heard saying, "what a curse."
Hope I've covered everything. And so his first rare:

It's been awhile. Hope I can make it to hell.
