Even though no one is playing it right now, do you think this game will stick around for another year or so? I'm looking for a new game to play.

i'd rather have less people playing than 80% of the population being RMT bots


P.S. the game isn't even RELEASED yet, of course it's going to be around for more than a year

Already can tell massive player drain - like 50 people on poe forums at any time - you look down half page you see a thread from 3 days ago with no new replies

hopefully, most of the people i played with in CB and right at OB release are gone, depressing at times but still very enjoyable to play even in pugs and shit

game engine and performance is much worse than d3
everything else is better basically and the game is actually fun and complex

atm ppl are playing 1 month race, neverwinter, metro last light, d2 ladder reset, so activity is lower
when the race ends at the end of this month, a new big patch will also come out with desync fixes, melee buffs, and other goodies, so I expect everything tol be back in order

Yeah right now activity is lower than it will be in a few weeks. Like guy above said neverwinter which is already boring ppl, d2 ladder reset, 1 month race etc are taking up some of the activity. Even I am kind of in a break mode from the game besides some of the solo races. There are also 2 new four month leagues coming out + chris mentioned something "awesome" coming. Launching cut-throat perm league with balance to stop level 90s from farming level 5s in ledge could bring back players easily + new players who love pvp. They also will soon be adding a thing to possibly stop desync deaths which is one of the major problems for people.

So yeah.. game could lose every player but it has the system in place already to get out completely new game changing content extremely quickly. Other games like diablo 3 would need months to get out what path of exile could get out in a week since those games had flawed designs from the start.

I was the staunchest D3 defender up until 3 months ago. I was the one saying "maybe maybe... but they're working on it, it'll be good, you'll see".

And then I installed PoE.



Yeah. I really couldn't care less how active this Open Beta is or isn't, I'm enjoying every single second of it, even though I killed 5 characters so far in hardcore.
