You're supposed to stop cooking the pasta when it's al dente, then cook the rest of the way in the sauce. The pasta will absorb some of the sauce, and it won't be watery

i used to have this problem, but all of a sudden i didntt.

didnt change anything and idk why...i think its just better draining though.

This. Cook ur pasta to 90% then finish the cooking process in a pan with ur sauce. If it's too thick u can loosen it up with water from cooking process, which contain a little starch..

i always do that, especially if im making sauce with meat or other veg.

Any Good Italian restaurant you've ever been to most likely does it that way for most of their pasta dishes.

In fact some sauces ( carbonara for example) get cooked mostly by the residual heat from the noodles and pan you used to start the sauce.

not boil the noodles in the sauce. boil the noodles in water and then add it to the sauce to cook for a little while longer.
