i had 45 dried habs and pulverized them in my molcajete.


i mixed 1/4 of the pepper with sugar
i mixed 1/4 of the pepper with salt
this is just for seasonings because hot stuff is the best stuff.




i still have a lot of dried hab powder so i was thinking of making some fooooods.:D


my ideas:

habanero smoked salmon
habanero BBQ pulled pork humbao (bun with meat and flavour inside)
habanero / peach icecream

Mm, definitely do the pork bun. I had one for the first time a couple weeks ago, and with the habanero, I can see it being really yummy.

Could use some for a rub & do some ribs, etc.

make a good hot sauce and/or bbq sauce and use it on anything you want

that's what i did made some "Daredevil" hot sauce now i put it on everything i eat , getting used to it now though, gonna have to find some more potent peppers xD

I picked up some Mango Ginger Habanero sauce/marinade off the discount bin at my local grocer and it is fuggin' delicious.

discount racks can be awesome. the dented/expired stuff i wont touch, but i got a $10 bottle of real maple syrup for $2 cause it was missing the labels. awesome. shoulda bought all 3 but only got one... made some awesome maple hickory beef jerky with it, though.

Yeah it's fun to poke through. They even have a rack from the bakery from the previous day's stuff that didn't get sold... loaves of good french bread for like $0.79 and shit. Half priced pies and sweets.

nice. a bakery here used to do that - 2 for one danishes on previous days leftovers. they might still do it, but i havent taken them up on it in a while.

Habanero Poppers.


beer batter

1 12 oz can light Beer
1 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Paprika
1 cup Flour, for dredging

cream cheese mix

tub of cream cheese
sugar (sweeten to your palette's desire)
minced ham or diced ham

15 fresh habs; tops sliced off and seeds removed.



mix up the batter and set aside
mix cream cheese filling mixture
stuff the habs with the cream cheese filling mixture
dip in batter once then let dry a LITTLE bit
dip in batter again after first is dry enough

throw them int he deep fryer until batter is golden....


enjoy one very slowly and lightly... nibble at it if you aren't sure about yourself

i ate three of these and the third one brought tears to my eyes.... but it was delicious
