You want maxers in your MP so you can run ed/stat in your helm and shield, then be able to swap the plate over to a zon if need be
also, ed/stat in a MP only works if you never want to use an ornate
Never liked melee duels, so npz there

I'm still a ways away from actually using the jewel, since I'd need at least 1-2 more like it to do anything worthwhile.
I've got to say, LLD has really gone to shit as far as class/spec viability due to a totally neglected ruleset and I'm horribly disappointed that it's become HLD-mini. LLD used to be balanced well enough that well built inventive builds could actually do well in the hands of a skilled player since it was all balanced based on class and sometimes spec. Blizzard doesn't balance the game for LLD, so the players should take some responsibility within the community to help it reach beyond the grasp of the dreaded cookie cutter.
The fact that someone, who will remain nameless but easily guessed, PM'd me asking me not to use an optimal item for my character because a cookie cutter build could use it "better" was downright offensive to me after what I worked on for years to build within this community. LLD was always a place for trying out new builds and finding ways to make things work; giving unique builds that couldn't survive in the cookie cutter world of HLD a place to flourish because players actually stepped up and did the balancing that blizzard sucks dick at. Where duels were won based on a players ability to adapt and change tactics since you would always be facing something new (or at least enough of a variety to keep you on your toes) rather than one of 5 copy&paste builds. Sure, the game doesn't seem as flexible to these concepts anymore, but it never was... it was the players who made it so that it could be.
Even attitudes within the community have changed for the worse. It's rare that I see a LLD game where more players are GM than BM; Where players care about the quality and thrill of the fight more than collecting another ear. Players mocking and BM'ing other, new low levels who come into the games rather than offering advice and a helping hand only discourage more people from getting into LLD. That is how the LLD community grew to what it was, and that's how players like myself got njag to create this forum in the first place.
I can't express how disappointed I am that LLD has strayed so far from its roots, and that nobody has cared enough to uphold what made LLD great in the first place, because this certainly isn't what was intended. I'm glad more veteran's aren't around to see this sad state of affairs, though I'm sure some stuck around longer into 1.10 than I did and saw the gradual breaking down of the tenets that built this place up from the ground. Now look at how few of them there are left. I know some, such as Hellskin and Breakbeatz, tried to keep this place going in the right direction as long as possible and their efforts are most appreciated but somewhere along the lines things got out of hand and trampled underfoot.
