Intro

I have been testing this hybrid guide through Hell/Inferno up to Act 2. It does awesome damage from range, and has a back up frenzy for fast moving monsters, or taking down elites faster due to the decent critical hit change and critical hit damage. But, this is primarily a ranged attacker; you've got to stick and move!
I tested the two handed axe throw; I didn't like the survivorbility, less resists, strength, and other mods you can get from using a one handed axe and a shield. Really the difference in damage is about 2,000 less, but with the shield you get block, stats, etc. So lets move on to the skills.

Damage Skills / Ruins

Left Click - Weapon Throw / Riccochet

100% weapons damage, slow movement enemy 60% for 2 seconds / Cause the weapon to ricochet and hit up to 3 targets within 20 yards of each other.

Right Click - Frenzy / Side Arm

Swing for 110% weapon damage. Frenzy attack speed increases by 15% with each swing. This effect can stack up to 5 times for a total bonus of 75% attack speed. / Each strike has a 25% chance to throw a piercing axe at a nearby enemy that deals 110% weapon damage to all enemies in its path.

Escape / Stun Skills / Ruins

#1 - Leap/Call of Arreat

Leap into the air, dealing 85% weapon damage to all enemies within 8 yards of your destination and slowing their movement speed by 60% for 3 seconds. / Shockwaves burst forth from the ground increasing the radius of effect to 16 yards and pulling affected enemies towards you.

#2 - Furious Charge / Dreadnaught

Rush forward knocking back enemies and inflicting 195% weapon damage to enemies along the path of the charge. / Regain 8% of your maximum Life for each target hit by Furious Charge.

Cry/ Buff Skills

#3 - Battle Rage / Marauder's Rage

Enter a rage which increases damage by 15% and Critical Hit Chance by 3% for 30 seconds. / Increase damage bonus to 30%

#4 - War Cry / Invigorate

Unleash a rallying cry to increase Armor for you and all allies within 50 yards by 20% for 60 seconds. / Increases maximum Life by 10% and regenerates 310 Life per second while affected by War Cry.

* With these skills you'll have great ranged attack, in close damage, two evade escape skills and decent damage life buff.
* Note, these are just personal preferences; I've tested a few combinations and this works best for me.

Passive Skills

Ruthless

Critical Hit Chance increased by 5%. Critical Hit Damage increased by 50%.

No Escape

Increases the damage of Ancient Spear and Weapon Throw by 10%. In addition, a Critical Hit with Ancient Spear resets the cooldown while Critical Hits with Weapon Throw have a chance to return 14 Fury.

Unforgiving

You no longer degenerate Fury. Instead, you gain 1 Fury every 2 seconds.

^ reason for this passive - hit War Cry to increase Fury, hit Battle Rage, now you have your health buff and damage buff with a quarter Fury. Start spamming weapon throw, With the unforgiven, fury generates and with the critical hit prock chance to return 14 fury combine with riccochet fury pool never depletes

Gears

One handed axe with decent DPS preferrably with critical hit damage - IAS if you can find it. I use a magic 700 DPS with critical damage.

The rest/chance to increase critical-hit / critical-hit damage / resists / -% ranged attack / - % melee attack whatever you can find, lol, but a shield is a must here.
