Most of the farming guides ive seen so far included 1 single kill for a quick short run. I prefer playing for a while and stacking up my MF.
So i figured i would share the farming method ive developed for myself over the past couple of days. It is a bit longer to run, and you get a lot of gold relatively speaking.
I do all of this on my WD with 28k hp, 500ish resist all, 54% damage reduction from armor, 1100 life on hit, and 10k damage using a rain of frogs tank build.
1. start a game on "chamber of suffering" part of quest 9.
2. Go to Cemetery of the Forsaken, there is often a rare spawn here. It will Always spawn within the general vicinity of the WP,
however i have found an elite pack or two hanging out just outside the gate to the previous zone.
3. next go to Fields of Misery and search for "The Decaying Crypts", "Forlorn Farm", or "The Secluded Grove as these will always spawn
a resplendent chest. (NOTE: Keep in mind these events do not always spawn)
4. After you are finished with the field of Misery, move on to the Festering Woods WP. On either side of it there is a quest cave with a rare
spawn inside, and a few chests. There is also an event which spawns a rare spawn towards the Drowned Temple.
5. Now you can go to Highland Crossing and there is usually 1-3 elite packs, 1 of which is almost always a "Savage Beast" which are too
large to fit past the hole in the bride right at the WP. You can usually find these mobs a screen or two away from the road, and sometimes
pretty far so get ready to kite.
6. Once you've killed the elite spawns in Highland Crossing go to Cathedral Garden and normally there will be a chest ready to be opened
with at least 1k gold worth of stuff.
7. After all of this, and while you've got 5 stacks of Nephalem's Valor, move on to Halls of Agony level 2 and fight your way to the butcher.
Remember to clear the entire map of level 2 & 3 as there is quite a few elite packs and rare spawns, as well as chests weapon stands
and pits that spawn zombies frequently up to a certain number of spawns which drop large amounts of gold.
Keep in mind that there is usually 1-3 elite packs in the area in between the halls level 1 & 2.
this usually takes me about 45 mins to 1 hour, totaling at least 70k gold from drops alone, and if you were lucky enough to find a good rare
spawn (you will find a LOT of rare items doing this). you can easily make more. ive made over 200k off of one run one time, but usually make
somewhere around 150k.
