btw i need to find out wat tranny is on there, its from a 1980 van with a 350ci, im guessing its a th350 but idk. because the pan is leaking, i checked the dip stick to make sure i wasnt running low ( while truck idling afther getting home from work) and fluid was way higher then the full mark, maybe that could be causing the leaking... here is a description of fluid level on stick: like if the margin between ''ad a quart'' and full is 1inch long, well it was an other inch pass the full mark.

check out this chart and simply match your pan to what you see in the picture and you will know which trans you have

looking into those th350 gaskets, should i get a rubber morroso gasket or just some generic cork will do? because its cheaper for me to buy a pan that comes with bolts and a gasket then to buy the morroso gasket... off he-bay
also i put in work on the interior this weekend, changed the old ass radio for a p8400 pioneer and put and changed front speakers for the ones i used to have in the cavalier but never used since i scrapped it.
had to take the whole dash out since the speakers are behind/in it. My girlfriend helped me haha ( we bought the truck together so she wants to be involved )

and here goes the old ass tranny

Uncle used to have one just like it. Drove it from Oklahoma to CA & back so many times, etc. Only prob he ever had that I remember was the cats got clogged so bad it would hardly run.. after replacing them it ran fine again

you might be thinking about my dads van, i did post a blue chevy van with a quick video

i went to Napa ordered the pan gasket w/filter and got me some tranny fluid, engine oil w/filter, brake cleaner for the pan once its off and some crankcase flushing product.
just checked my air filter and actually couldn't get it out from the hood, il have to take the inside console out and open the latch from the inside ( will be my first time lol )
my hand were all black from touching the air filter so it needs replacing for sure.

my main issue, just realized the tranny x-member is in the way for all the rear pan bolts, im praying the x-member bolts will come out of the frame/tranny without snapping.
anyone done this before? can i support the drive shaft or rear of tranny with some log of wood or an actual jack stand?

Ya anytime ive pulled an auto I use a jack with a big block of wood. Dealing with a small manual like a T-5 & then you just have your buddy pull the last couple bolts out & then just swing it out from under the car ;P
