Alright so recently I was approached with a trade (Once again) and need some advice.

His car stats:

88 Mustang GT (5.0L) hatchback
*Surprisingly I like the hatchback in this year, although it adds a little weight*

Low Miles on motor
Ported Heads
Ported Intake
Crower Cam
MAF Conversion
3:73 Gears
Short Throw Shifter
Off Road X pipe
Lowering Springs
New Carpet
DRIVES GREAT
Needs paint job
Grey interior
Small amount of surface rust

The car is currently in black primer with a little surface rust, that I could easily remove.

My car stats:
96 mustang GT (4.6L) 130,000 miles.

Flowmaster x pipe exhaust
JLT High performance fender well cold air intake
tinted windows
Leather interior
cobra wheels (Not great condition)
Pretty much a ton of small extras like, billit gun handle shift knob, custom 3rd brake light, billit shorty antenna ect.
Needs a clutch bad
Small infraction to the hood (I didn't mention this to him but the hood is of course fiber class and would be difficult to repair, better to just replace the whole thing)
Secondary o2 sensor is bad
Back wheel spacers
Tears in the driver side seat
Just replaced all 4 brakes, the thermostat, (The exhaust tips and bumper also just replaced because someone rear ended me)


Anyway thats about all the stats this is a TRADE FOR TRADE, I just want to see some opinions...As a reminder I absolutly LOVE the fox body style opposed to mine.

Also if you want to discuss the 4.6L to the 5.0 feel free. Keep critizism miniumal please, I know alot of people arent fans of mustangs or whatever, just don't post.

Haha foxbodys are fuckin gorgeous dude, My girlfriend has been trying to talk me out of the trade because she doesn't like how foxbodys look (Like most people) but seriously the fox (Like 87-92 style, 79-86 and 93 not so much) and the late 60, early 70 style mustangs are by far my favorite style. I really would need a really good fucking reason to not make this trade, like Car Jesus telling me not to trade.

seems like there is less work to be done with the 5.0 over yours, needing a clutch is a big deal,if you dont do it yourself thats easily 1200$

The 1996 4.6L is garbage, go for the other one.

Not to the 1996 generation is the ugliest Mustang ever made except for the Mustang 2 lol.

If you have plans to mod the car more in the future and you don't have the money to boost the 4.6 then get the 5.0. It has WAY more potential N/A or on nitrous than the 4.6. A mod motor is nothing without boost. A fully built N/A 2v won't put down 400rwhp. You would be lucky to get 350rwhp. That is bolt on LS1 territory and stock LS2/3 territory.

By built I mean nice expensive ported heads, big cams, supporting internals, full bolt ons.
