I cry just reading these stories, I wish more than anything in the world to have been there for Bast before he died.
It was 2 days before his first birthday and I was in a phone call, he went out. during the call I felt so insane sick. Like a knife through my stomach it was literally for about 2 minutes, then gone.
30-45 mins later my mother comes home, says "Hey Merrie, is Bast home or out?" I was like "He's out" She just said shit..... I dropped the phone and ran, on the way there (5 mins down the road)
he was laying there in the middle of the road, It didn't look like him at first, I think I was in denial... then I turned him over and screamed.
I took my eyes away from him and then saw his collar.
My whole world broke in that moment, I picked him up, held him like a mother held her baby and carried him home sobbing.
Mum ran in and got one of his boxes and a blanket, told me not to look as she took him from my arms, she wrapped him up and placed him in the box and placed him in our shed.
She forced me to shower, I was covered in his blood.
The next day I took paw prints from him, cut off a little fur, got the baby tooth that fell out not long before and got his collar, placed them in a tiny box which I keep on my shine.
The I buried my baby under my plum tree outside my window.
I have 2 new kittens which are my sisters, but I've basically adopted them, or they have adopted me. They are Patch and Socks.
I think about him every day and I miss him more than anything in the world.
