she's already gone.
her bed was on the main floor, she wasn't able to go up or down the stairs for about a month or so. she used to sleep downstairs in my room with me.
i spent the last week being around her as much as possible.
we called my brother and talked about it. he understood, and said it was probably time. he said he wanted to feel her one more time, but he's 13 hours away by plane.
he said it would be better to think about her how he remembered her over a years ago.
she didn't seem to be in pain until the night before we let her go. she was whimpering throughout the night, and i stayed up till 4 am with her. when i woke up, i realized she was still whimpering and barking through the night due to her loss of voice. she wouldn't eat or drink at all that day, and it became impossible for her to get up, even with help. she was losing weight quickly. we couldn't just have her lying there until she starved or dehydrated herself to death... that would just be cruel.

sad to hear that
hope she lives forever in your heart
and that you find a new puppy to make you happy
This.
Also, you did the right thing.

It is never easy to let go, but keeping a positive attitude in your mind always helps!
You're right that it would be cruel to let her lie there, knowing she might suffer, so good show.
